Antique English Figurative Glazed Tobacco Jar TG Hunt Clifton 1878 Round House
DESCRIPTION
Vintage 19th century English pottery humidor. This tobacco jar dates to about 1880 and commemorates the round house at Clifton being built in 1878. The jar is designed as a round tower which was known as a folly. The main body has 2 windows and a door and the lid round roof has a widows peak and 4 chimneys. Beautifully glazed over muted colors this finely made tobacco jar is simply marked with a label underneath which may be a shake number or inventory number from someones collection.
