Antique English Mahogany Cased Neale Fruit Market Wall Clock
Antique 12" dial English Mahogany Cased Neale Fruit Market Wall Clock. The painted face of the clock is decorated with advertising " Neale for the Best Fruit" instead of numbers as is usual. It is assumed that this clock was used in a permanent fruit market such as Camden town, Spitalfields or Covent Garden by a long standing fruit and veg vendor, which acted not only as a focal point but as a relevant time piece. This most likely dates to the 1920's through to the 1940's.
Inside the clock it is marked Clapham.
A fabulous addition to your clock collection or vintage home decor. This would make a great housewarming or early holiday gift idea.
Clock measures: 12" dial, 15" diameter with frame by 5.5" deep and weighs 9lb 14oz (pendulum weighs an additional 1lb).
In good working condition and good physical condition considering age and use. The veneer has chipped off at the edges of the back of the clock and there is speckling of the white paint on the face missing - (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
