Antique Four String Box Made Violin Musical Instrument In Case 1900 1920s
Vintage 4 stringed musical instrument in hard case. Dating to around the turn of the 20th century this hand made instrument may be a box car version of a violin. Interesting in its construction it has a primitive appearance yet it sounds good when strummed even though there are no frets along the neck. The sound hole is very small and the strings are looped under the base of the spine.
A great rare piece of musical history.
Instrument measures 22.5" long by 8" wide by 1.5" deep (case measures 30" by 10" by 3.5") and weighs 5lb 3oz.
In nice condition with some signs of use commensurate with age. There are some scratches to the wood on the front. The case shows the most signs of wear (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
