DESCRIPTION
Antique Georgian sterling silver footed taza. Made by Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson in London 1799 for a prestigious gentried family in the simple and exquisite style of the mid Georgian period. These types of pieces had numerous uses form displaying pastries to card calling and were numerous during the period. Now the surviving one are highly desirable if they have avoided being melted. Simply decorated with the familys crest of a rampant lion against an upright post. A great addition to any Georgian English sterling silver collection.
