Antique IOGT Silver Reciting CTU Medallion Prize
Antique sterling silver IOGT Temperance medal. This Victorian medal may have been made in Australia for the Independent Order of Good Templars( IOGT) members or for a (CTU)Christian Temperance Union member. One side has the IOGT entwined on a red enamel background with the CTU entwined on a blue background on the reverse. The motto is that of Queensland, Australia (bold and faithful) which was bestowed upon them in the 1890's. The design of the Maltese cross on the front also intimates the Australian origin. It retains both the ribbon bar, green ribbon and the reciting pin bar on top.
