Antique Pair of Staffordshire Porcelain Novelty Figurines
Antique pair of Staffordshire porcelain figurines. Glazed and colored seated figures of jolly faced gentlemen drinking. Each hat is removable to store perhaps salt or perhaps as novelty drinking containers. Even though they are not marked they have the characteristics of Staffordshire novelty ware which was popularly produced during the late 19th century. Both gentlemen are dressed in 18th century attire with a rustic country look about them. These antique novelty pieces date to the late 19th century.
A great addition to your vintage home decor or staffordshire collection. These would make a great early holiday gift or as novelty shot glasses for a vintage bar.
Figurines measures 3" deep by 2.25" wide by 3.5" tall and weigh together 10.4oz.
In good condition considering age and use with age and use. The black hat has a chip missing from the underneath and a prior repair where is seems a portion of the hat was broken and then glued back on. The cork surrounds on the inside seem to be replacements to ensure a snug fit - please see all pictures as they form part of the description.
