Original pre civil war 1860 apprehension papers for an escaped convict from La Salle county Illinois. The convict called Charles Hoy was sought by the authorities of La Salle in the jurisdiction of Ohio where he was though to be. The document is a legally signed piece by the then governor William Dennison (friend of Lincoln) for his apprehension, detention and return to the authority of the Sheriff Francis Warner of La Salle, Illinois. This document details his offenses and acts like an extradition order as it carries the official seal of the state of Ohio.
