Antique Primitive John Rabone & Son Carpenters 27" Level
Antique wooden and brass centered John Rabone & Sons carpenters level. Vintage tool dating to the early 1900s. This vintage carpenters level is made from mahogany or rosewood with brass fittings and has both a vertical and horizontal level.
The firm of John Rabone has a long established history. The Company has its origins in Birmingham, as rule and tool makers back in 1784. The business was continued by John Rabone and his (John's) grandson, Eric Rabone. It worked under the name of John Rabone and Sons c1784-1953.
Marked on brass: John Rabone & Sons Makers, Birmingham, England, Warranted correct
This would make a great birthday gift, addition to any vintage tool collection or collector of carpenters tools.
Wooden level measures 27“ long by 3" wide by 1" deep and weighs 2lb 12oz.
In generally good working condition considering age and use. There are some small marks and scratches to the wood and brass commensurate with its use (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
