Antique Stone Basalt Carved French Head Phrygian
Antique carved stone head of a man in a phrygian cap. Most likely French in origin the head is stylistically yet primitively carved. His head is carved from what appears to be basalt on all sides which was exposed to the outside elements. He may have come from a church or other public building. This piece is at least 100 years old but looks medieval in style.
A fabulous addition to any eclectic home decor or a perfect housewarming gift idea. This would make a great paperweight, doorstop or decorative shelf carving.
Bust measures 2.5" wide by 2.75" deep by 2.75" tall and weighs 1lb.
This bust is in good condition considering age and use with some small chipping on the edges of the piece and a round divot from the back of his head - please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description.
