Antique Victorian Brass British Figural Table Thermometer
Antique Victorian brass figural table thermometer sculpture. This is British in original dating to the turn of the last century and being constructed from several individually (8 in total) cast pieces. The base depicts a relief cast scene of chariot racing topped with two figurative Pegasus figures emerging from the base. The central column is a hollow copper construction with a temperature range incised into the central cartouche where originally a thermometer would have been placed. This is topped with another highly detailed figure of a huntsman in full hunting regalia including blow horn, whip and hat. this sculptured piece would make a great addition to any hunting themed property, classical sculpture or British property. There are no makers marks to be found anywhere on it.
This would make a great birthday gift or housewarming gift.
MEASUREMENTS
Figural thermometer measures by 10" tall by 4" wide by 4" deep and weighs 2lb 2oz.
CONDITION
In nice condition considering age and use. There would have originally been a thermometer in the center pillar but it is missing. There is some signs of oxidization as is expected (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
