Art Deco Hotel Lobby Room Number Display Tipit
Art Deco hotel room number metal display. Vintage metal display which hung in a hotel reception to indicate whether a guest was in or out. Dating to the 1920's/30's the main metal back display is framed with wood with brass corners whereas the set of numbers are made from blocks of aluminum. The background metal is painted to simulate wood which was popular with sheet metal industrial items during the period.
As each room became available the number was tipped up to show it was unoccupied or it could denote that a guest was not in their room. A great Art Deco item with typical block numbering style indicative of the period.
This would make a great display item in a vintage home or in a games room or a great gift for anyone owning or opening a small hotel or B&B.
Vintage display measures 15.75 " long by 8.5" wide by 2" tall and weighs 2lb.
In good used condition with signs of use commensurate with age, an odd ding (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
