DESCRIPTION

Vintage heavy bronze French sculpture plaque after Guy Buffet. Depicting a French citizen wearing a Phrygian cap holding a tree of knowledge by the left hand whilst pointing to the declaration of the rights of man with his right hand. This was the proclamation which led to the French revolution and the terror of Madame Guillotine in late 18th century France. Cast as a single piece of heavy bronze by the Paris De monnaie mint in Paris this wall mounted bronze sculpture is impressed with the mark after the artist Guy Buffet. This piece can be displayed as is or mounted to the wall via the three screw holes in the back.
