Original Vintage Limited Edition G H Rothe Surrealism Print The Extra Effort 6/150
Original vintage limited edition signed print. Surrealist colored print by G H Rothe (1935-2007) titled " The Extra Effort" depicts an almost slow motion capture of movement from a crouching position to a projected leap. It is believed that this is a representation of a dancer accentuating each individual muscle movement in something so simple as a leap but seen through this staged medium it is apparent that it is not just an extra effort but a Herculean effort. This numbers no 6/150 being printed on heavy stock paper behind linen matting.
Gatja Helgart Rothes (1935-2007) was a German artist whose skill is the web of transparent forms, which is achieved by the mutual priming and engraving in several levels giving it an unmistakable clarity and dimensions. The colors are oil paints, which are all incorporated simultaneously on a plate in hours of work with the palm of the hand. The impression is done on previously watered handmade paper "Arches 88".
Topics include the full range of life and nature with the aesthetic highlights dance, horses, landscape, roses as symbols of feelings, emotions, reality, dreams, philosophy and evolution.
