Primitive Signed Folk Art Oil Painting by Diana ~ Conestoga Wagons
Vintage western folk art oil on board. Original signed oil painting depicting a settlers conestoga camp train in the mid west at night. This primitive painting has typical imagery associated with primitive art of the western genre, livestock, the prairie, cowboys, indians, campfires and pioneers with conestoga wagons. The artist has used a lively palette range which reveals the subjects distinctly from a distance. I believe this dates from the 1970's due to the medium used to paint on. There appears to be some spoof information on the back which relates to the scene.
Provenance: Phoebe Hearst Cooke Estate, Paso Robles, CA
