DESCRIPTION

Rare vintage large lioness stuffed toy dating to the 1920's/30's. Known as a plush toy this large lioness is made in a relaxed realistic pose with her head tilting inquisitively to the side. Her eyes are glass , her body is most likely stuffed with kapok but it does crackle around her head like wood wool and her head is made from straw. She does not have pads on her paws and her nose is hand stitched. Her fur is mohair I believe which leaves an ash residue when burned (a small tuft was brushed from her tail to test). The previous owner has suggested that they were made by H K Farnell but without a tag it is difficult to determine. This lioness came with her lion mate and possibly had a cub originally to form the wild animal family.

This would make a great birthday gift, vintage stuffed toy collection or a fabulous addition to a zoo animal themed nursery.

MEASUREMENTS

Lioness measures by 22" long by 9.25" tall by 8" wide and weighs 1lb 9oz.

CONDITION

The lioness is in nice condition considering age and use. There is definitely some fur loss in areas such as his nose, back & paws (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description)
