Victorian Temperance Movement ATA Sterling Silver Medal
Antique temperance movement sterling silver medal. Antique temperance medal for the Army Temperance Association commemorating the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 who was their patron. The medal portrays the bust of Queen Victoria as Empress of India who was a patron of this army temperance order for the abstinence of alcohol in the British armed forces during the 19th century. The obverse side portrays the ATA monogram with its "watch and be sober" motto.
This memorial medal is hallmarked with the makers mark of (JAR), sterling silver mark (lion passant) and date letter of 1912 (n). A great addition to your religious, temperance or medal collection.
MEASUREMENTS
Item measures 1.25“ in diameter and weighs less than 1oz.
CONDITION
In good used condition with two dings on the rim (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
