Vintage 1920s Blue Bubble Enamel Street Sign ~ Dorrego Ave
Original blue and white vitreous enamel street sign. Made in Buenos Aires around 1920 this bubble back sign has a convex shape when attached to the wall. The lettering and border are slightly raised from rich blue background and the emblem of the city is the pre 1944 autonomous city of Bueno Aires shield. The name pays tribute to Manuel Dorrego, governor of Buenos Aires (1820-1820) (1827-1828) and military leader during the Wars of Independence. This was acquired from a visit to Buenos Aires several years ago.
Signed: Avenida Dorrego
This would make a great addition to any vintage sign or advertising collection. This would make a great early birthday or Fathers day gift.
