DESCRIPTION

Vintage heavy cast brass pair of Egyptian revival Sphinx candle holder figurines. Cast in brass with a nickel plating these pair of vintage candlesticks are made in the Hollywood regency period and style most likely by Maitland Smith in the 1970's but not marked. They actually represent the winged Sphinx of classical Greece Although usually associated with Egypt which is a wingless male and benevolent, this is a female who is malevolent and sits upright. The bottom is based underneath to ensure it held its form in the casting.

A great addition for your Egyptian inspired home decor,or a great idea as a wedding or holiday gift idea.

MEASUREMENTS

Each candle holder measure 3.75“ wide by 7" deep by 10" tall and weighs 10lb 7oz.

CONDITION

In good used condition with some signs of use to the metal (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
