DESCRIPTION

Abstract multicolored soapstone sculpture by Beatrice Eiges (1914-2004). Modernist contemporary piece of abstract art on lucite base as designed by Eiges after the 1950's when she began sculpting and found her metier. She worked in stone, wood, clay, and metal, creating strong contrasts in form, line, and texture with an overlying grace. Though she started with figural pieces she soon moved to abstract works, this one displaying allure skill and characteristics. It is directly attached to a lucite base and emanates various images depending on the position it is viewed at, a stiletto or an iceberg peak.

MEASUREMENTS

Sculpture on base measures 8.5“ tall by 5.5" wide by 4" deep and weighs 3lb.
Base on its own measures 6" by 6" by 1.8".

CONDITION

In good used condition with some signs of use. The soapstone would definitely benefit from polishing to clean up some scratches and buffed edges(please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
