Vintage David Tauszky Portrait Oil Painting - 24" x 20"
Vintage David Tauszky (1878 - 1972, Pasadena, CA) oil on canvas portrait of a seated lady. Titled " Moon Blossom" this art deco painting depicts a seated asian lady in white against a turquoise backdrop room. The paint is very heavily applied on the dress of the subject which almost protrudes her from the canvas lending great depth to the piece overall.
David Anthony Tauszky was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 4, 1878. Tauszky studied in New York City at the Art Students League and continued at Academie Julian in Paris under Laurens and Constant. He was well known in the East in 1922 when he moved to Los Angeles. He made many trips back to New York to paint and exhibit. Tauszky died in Pasadena, California on February 26, 1972.

Signed lower right on the canvas. Signed again and titled twice on the stretcher.

In generally good condition considering age and use. Craquelure throughout. There is some paint loss on her dress under her hand with small flecks of paint loss throughout but not very noticeable. No evidence of restoration under backlight - please see all pictures as they form part of the description.
