Vintage Native American Kwakiutl tribal carved wooden loon bowl. North Western style carved loon bowl in the shape of a Raven. Signed by the wood carver Danny Matilpi of the Kwakiutl tribe from Fort Rupert, BC. The Kwakiutl (self-name Kwakwaka’wakw) are North American Indians who traditionally lived in what is now British Columbia, Canada, along the shores of the waterways between Vancouver Island and the mainland.

A beautiful piece of carved wood by a talented hand which would make a great addition to any North Western or Kwakwaka’wakw collection.
Sculpture measures 20.5" long by 6" wide by 6" tall and weighs 1lb 7oz.
In nice condition with some signs of use commensurate with age. This sculpture has a small chip from the side of its mouth and some signs of wear to the edges of the sculpture (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
