Vintage Temperance Movement WCTU Anti Saloon League Spoon
Vintage WCTU Temperance Movement spoon. The Loyal Temperance Legion was a subsidiary organization which was concerned with the Anti Saloon league. This commemorative spoon was made to celebrate the opening of the WCTU women's temple in Chicago, ill in 1892. Ornately decorated with all Temperance orders regalia it was most likely made for the WCTU to sell in order to raise funds for the project. There are no makers marks or sterling marks but it does test for silver which is probably plate.
