Vintage Handmade Patchwork Wedding Ring Quilt
Vintage double wedding ring handmade quilt. Primitive and classic in style this quilted bedspread was made in the USA most likely during the 1940's or 50's. The patchwork quilt was acquired along with other quilts dating from this period.
Double wedding ring quilts became popular from the 1920's onwards and is most likely associated with the primitive 16th century Germanic design brought over the Pennsylvania Dutch regions of the USA. The Arts and Crafts movements revived an interest in primitive and hand made items as a backlash against mass production.
A great addition to your handmade quilt or primitive American collection.
This patchwork quilt measures 63“ wide by 78“ long.
In good used condition with signs of use commensurate with age and three small stains (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
