1930's signed Boris O Klein Canine Hand Colored Print 'Etourdie'

  • $ 25000

Framed hand-colored lithograph 'Etourdie' by Boris O Klein in the 1930's. Famous for his dog pieces Boris O Klein was a great humorist whose main art themes were (1) public urination; and (2) male-female flirtation or desire. This scene is a nice variation on the usual male dominated pack of ruffian canines! Here we see a smug little female kitty showing up at the queue / waiting line for use of the "W.C." tree! The male dogs are visible in shock by this occurrence. This is signed and titled on the bottom of the print in pencil by the artist.

The numerous scenes by O'Klein of dogs lined up against walls or beside trees to urinate are part of what gives the prints their incendiary appeal for some viewers. A great piece of collective signed art in excellent condition ready to hang, this would suit any dog collectors or French humorist artists living room, bedroom or library.
