Antique Fraternal Temperance IOR Rechabites Ceremonial Sash

Antique Temperance IOR ceremonial sash. This was presented to a member of the friendly fraternal organization the Independent Order of Rechabites who originated in Salford, England in the 19th century. This sash retains its original silver shield with its original inscription for tent 1122 which was situated at 65 Academy street, Belfast, County Antrim in Ireland since 1863. This organization was associated with the Orange Order in Antrim in the 19th century, this piece dates to the beginning of 1900.

Marked on front of sash on silk part: Independent Order of Rechabites, Salford Unity Friendly Society
Metal letters sewn onto sash: PCR

MEASUREMENTS:

Sash measures 82" long by 6" wide and weighs 4.2oz.

CONDITION

In generally good condition considering age and use. The medal is in very nice condition but the silk patch that is sewn onto the sash is very tethered and faded (please see all photographs as they form part of the listing description).
