Antique religious 14k gold Womens Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) prize medal. This antique gold oratorical prize medal was presented to a candidate for orally reciting bible verse or other Christian verse. By promoting oral, musical, written and general educational events this encouraged not only education among the young but a deterrent towards alcohol as a recreational pastime. This dates to the late 19th century or early 20th century.
