Antique 18th Century Religious Santos Statue Figurine
Antique 18th century chryselephantine Santos religious statues made from wood and bone. The santos figure is motioning outward with his right hand whilst carrying a brass staff in his left hand. The main body of the religious statue is constructed from wood with gold leaf painted on his cassock, as well as the sleeves, cowl and bottom of his chasuble. He is missing his zucchetto as there is a place for it on the top of his head. His head and hands appear to be carved from polished bone or other material to a high sheen in great detail, especially his beard and hair. This was acquired from the collection of a renowned patron of Santos figurines.
Santos Figure measures 6.75“ tall by 3.5“ wide by 2" deep and weighs 4.6oz
In good condition with wear and tear to the polychrome paintwork commensurate with age (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description). He is also missing one of his glass eyes. The staff is most likely a replacement.

I am always honest and clear in my descriptions and always endeavor to point out any flaws to avoid disappointment but I cannot disclose every minute sign of use on our items as it would be impossible to do so. You should assume these are present unless we specify otherwise here at the beginning of the condition report.
I show all angles of the item on photographs so please review the pictures as they should be considered part of the description.
