Vintage original large heavy clay sculpture of a female Chimpanzee and baby in her arms. Stunningly created with realistic detail this heavy sculpture depicts a female mother chimpanzee sitting in a cradling position with a baby chimp curled into the safety of her stomach. This heavy piece of art sits on a wooden plinth with a dedication brass plaque attached which reads:

DR W Thomas Sincere Appreciation Eda Martinek Henry

Although we do not know who the recipient was, Eda Martinek Henry is a Los Angeles based sculptress who has exhibited successfully throughout her life. This may even be the piece entitled "Mother & Child " completed in 1982 for the Los Angeles zoo.
